Providing a Nurturing and Stimulating Environment
2 year olds
All children need a calm and nurturing environment to develop their senses and explore the world around them. Our classrooms and garden provide a safe, clean and cosy space where your child can grow and learn at their own pace.
Each child has their own named peg for their coat and drawer for their bag, giving a sense of ownership and belonging.
Shelves with resources are placed at child height for the children to build their independence at choosing something for themselves and putting it away afterwards for someone else to use. Larger table top toys are used to encourage pair or group play.
3 year olds
Three year olds are curious and active learners who need stimulating and engaging space and resources to explore and learn. Our dedicated team prepares a range of activities and opportunities that promote their cognitive, physical, social and emotional development. We encourage them to discover their interests and talents while fostering their independence and self-esteem.
Pre-school
Our pre-school year is carefully planned to prepare your child for a successful transition to school. We offer a balance of structured and child-directed activities that promote their language, literacy, maths, physical and social skills and a rich environment to challenge their problem solving, creativity and critical thinking. Our experienced teachers work closely with each child to build their confidence, curiosity, and love of learning. The children are encouraged to explore and experiment with a variety of materials and tools, and to express their ideas and feelings through art, craft, music, and dance.
Garden play and learning
Teachers understand the importance of children and adults being outside in the fresh air and enjoying nature. Every child spends at least one hour in the garden each morning and the outdoor environment has been planned to provide a safe space to move and play with covered areas enabling this important outdoor play whatever the weather. Resources change on a daily basis from our large selection which include tricycles, scooters, buggies, playhouse, outdoor easels, a sandpit, tough trays refreshed with a variety of resources. We teach children how to keep themselves warm in winter and safe from the sun and heat in summer months. The nursery has puddle suits for all children to wear in wet weather so that play can continue without worry of clothes getting wet.
