General Information
The Rocking Horse, established in 1989, is a single, family owned nursery school in Tunbridge Wells, Kent.
Set in a family home, the nursery is a carefully developed environment which cares for children from 2-4 years old, nurturing each child in the transition from home to school life.
The nursery practices a mix of Montessori and traditional nursery methods and accommodates up to 32 children in age appropriate groups.
Our sessions
Our qualified and experienced staff work in ratios of 1:4 for children under 3 years old and 1:8 for children over 3 years old. Over and above these required ratios, our supernumerary staff step in during sessions to allow all children some 1-1 time with their key teacher.
The nursery is open Monday -Wednesday 8.30-2.30pm, term time only for 39 weeks per year, in line with local primary school term dates.

At our last Ofsted inspection (2019), The Rocking Horse was rated 'Outstanding' across all areas:
