The Rockinghorse Nursery is divided into two groups of children, each group of children being offered the appropriate level of care, teaching and equipment suitable to their ages and stages of development. We have:
Our Baby and Toddler Group:
We are able to accept 12 children aged 0-2 years into this group.
Children in this Group will normally move into the Pre-school Group when they are about 2 years old provided there is a space for them.
The children are cared for by 4 Key workers depending upon the number of children present. The Key workers in this group will be using the guidance provided in the Birth to Three Years Framework - please ask a member of staff for further details.
Our Pre-School Group:
The children in this group are aged between 2yrs and 5yrs of age. We are allowed to accept up to 16 children into this group and they are cared for by 2 or
3 members of staff depending on the ages and numbers of children present.
The Key workers for the children in this Nursery Group will be following the Early Years Foundation Stage guidance for children who are eligible for the Education Grant Funding. Key workers will also have regard to the Birth to Three Framework for children aged upto 3 years 11months.
We have good support from our Link Teacher who frequently visits the Nursery to give sound advice and guidance to all Key workers.
