Hello everyone! We hope that you are enjoying the lovely weather! We have had great fun outdoors on our decked area and in the garden. We have introduced the children to the concept of sharing and taking turns to develop positive relationships and to encourage their understanding of feelings. We are developing communication skills by using new words which the children are beginning to use themselves when interacting with their friends. For example, the children in the older 0-2yrs group will say "My turn please"! The younger 0-2yrs children are enjoying the experience of water play - filling up the buckets and pouring water all over their friends and us! We have used props such as plastic ducks for developing creativity by singing 'Five little ducks went swimming one day'. This is also introducing these very young children to early counting skills. Our planning will focus on each child's individual needs and we wil ensure that the children are offered experiences which will further their development in all areas relating to the early years foundation stage. A record of all significant moments will be kept in your child's observation book then later in his/her folder. We would value your contribution to these, please use the bubbles sheets provided in your child's folder. Everyone is excited about moving up to the next group. The children are developing new friendships and attachments with their new Key person and new friends. We look forward to sharing their new experiences with Parents. Please could you supply an updated photograph for your child's portfolio. We have all been on early years foundation stage training - we hope that you will enjoy sharing your DVD and height chart with your child! Lastly, we need your help - to ensure the utmost safety for all Nursery children could all parents and carers please close the Nursery front door and the car park gate when entering and leaving the Nursery, that would be great! Thank you for your help. Kind regards from all the baby and toddler team.
