Hello everyone and welcome to our Little Gardeners newsletter. Our recently refurbished garden is looking and smelling great, especially our lavender which has lots and lots of flowers and busy bees. We have watched as the bees collect pollen to turn into honey for us to eat! Our eucolyptus trees are much taller now - we have measured all staff and children against them and the trees are much taller than any of us! We have been busy planting raddish and carrot seeds which are now coming up through the soil. Our runner beans have orange and red flowers which we are hoping will turn into juicy green beans for our dinner! All children have taken home grown strawberries, new potatoes and spring onions home to eat, everyone enjoyed them very much - well done Little Gardeners! Our new bird feeder has attracted lots of different birds into the garden - especially a very friendly blackbird! We have also put up hibernation boxes for our ladybirds and lacewings and a special box for our frogs who visit our small tub pond! We are having lots of fun caring for our organic garden and we love getting nice and dirty digging big holes in the ground and filling up our lorries with soil. We are still enjoying our composting activities and our wormery! Best Wishes from all the Nursery staff and children.
